Regional Leaders Agree on a Shared Plan for Cleaner Rivers

Leaders from five neighbouring regions met on Tuesday and agreed on a shared plan to reduce pollution in the rivers that cross their borders.
Under the plan, each region will measure water quality every month and publish the results online, so residents can see the progress for themselves.
The cost of new treatment plants will be shared according to population. Officials said the first plants could open within three years.

Environment groups welcomed the agreement but asked for clear deadlines. A review meeting is planned for next spring.
A clear plan at last. I hope the deadlines are kept.
