City Marathon Draws a Record Number of Runners

Thousands of runners took to the streets on Sunday for the city marathon, the biggest in its history.

Many ran to raise money for local charities, and crowds lined the route to cheer them on.

Organisers thanked the volunteers who handed out water and the residents who put up with closed roads for the morning.

Next year’s race will have a shorter family route for children and beginners.
